    • Undertake responsibilities for the shift and be the named person in charge in the absence of the Care Manager and Registered Manager
    • Be responsible for and contribute to the preparation of care plans, their updating and review by the care team, to be relevant to each individual resident’s needs. This should be done in consultation with residents, advocates and their families.
    • Ensure effective, open and positive communication (verbal and written as appropriate) within the Home including residents, staff, relatives, volunteers, other professionals and all visitors to the home.

    What you'll be doing:

    • In consultation with residents, families, colleagues, and management, to develop and implement a programme of stimulating activities, including outings, that will meet the social, physical, and emotional needs of residents and enable them to lead as full a life as possible, paying attention to the needs of older adults with dementia, younger adults with physical disabilities or mental health challenges.

    The role of Maintenance Operative is to provide support for both Property’s direct activities, such as completing minor maintenance repairs and scheduled maintenance tasks, as well as supporting the day to day activities of the individual resources, such as site set-up’s and driving where qualified and trained.

    The nature of the role is varied and requires the Maintenance Operative to carry out minor repair works that will include tasks such as general maintenance, basic plumbing, carpentry, renovations, minor decorating and painting, fire alarm testing, completing site set-up’s, monitoring of site and any other assigned duties required.

    The Community Support and Social Work service (CSSW) comprises 30+ full and part-time workers, based in four locality teams in London and the South East, who work with adults within the Jewish Community. They provide personalised, integrated responses, offering support, advice and advocacy to meet identified health and social care needs of individuals, families and carers as well as facilitating support groups and other community-based interventions. The aim of the service is to support independence, promote choice and control for people facing difficulties due to ageing, caring responsibilities, disability, mental health issues or changes in circumstances.

    This post is for 27 hours per week working, Mondays,Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (9am - 5pm) with early closing on a Friday at 2pm during the winter months.

    The role of the Senior Social Worker is to:

    The East London community service consists of the Brenner Day Centre at Stepney Community Centre, based in Stepney Green. Also provided is Connect@ Stamford Hill, a one day a week service on a Tuesday. Additionally, there are a variety of evening and weekend services taking place at different sites across East London. The Centres reach out to people living in the London Boroughs of Hackney, Haringey, Tower Hamlets, City of London and Enfield, with a staff team of 12 people plus sessional workers across all sites. There is also a volunteer team of around 60 people. Currently the service sees around 800 visits per month. This new, redesigned service has been developed using research gleaned directly from service users, and offers a brave and exciting way to redeliver our services to be more flexible, adaptive and ensure that everyone gets a service when they need it.

    Purpose of Role

    To be the Centre’s lead person on all recreational activity provided in and outside of our building. The post holder’s main responsibility is to ensure that service users’ independence, dignity and choice is maximised through the engagement with the activity programme. The post holder has authority to change the activity programme to reflect the needs of service users, and holds the responsibility for operational decision making within appropriate policies. Any changes with regards to resource or budget implications will be authorised by the Locality Coordinator.
