Jewish Care has over 3000 volunteers. Our volunteers are valuable resources who enhance the lives of those who use our services.   We depend on volunteers throughout the organisation and they give their skills and experiences freely.   In order to do this effectively, it is important that they are supported, trained and managed effectively, enabling them to work in partnership with the paid staff in order to deliver the services that are needed within the organisation.

The purpose of the Senior Recruitment & Enrolment Officer for Volunteers is to:

  • Work in line with the organisation’s Volunteering Strategy to identify and create opportunities that will benefit both the services users and the organisation
  • Ensure that volunteers are suitably trained to carry out their roles effectively
  • Work with staff to create a ‘one team’ approach where staff and volunteers work together for the benefit of the service users.
  • Work with staff to identify opportunities to create imaginative and exciting activities for service users that can be volunteer led.
  • To line manage the Volunteer Engagement officer & Administrative support for Enrolment

 What you'll be doing:

  • Developing a  clear volunteer recruitment process and proactively implement new ideas to improve the current volunteer recruitment process for all roles across Jewish Care
  • Recruiting volunteers through current and new networks and organise recruitment events to promote opportunities at Jewish Care.
  • Working closely with the Youth Volunteering officer regarding recruitment of volunteers
  • Liaising with departments and resources across Jewish Care to understand how they work and assess their volunteering needs
  • Working with staff throughout Jewish Care to identify and create volunteer role outlines
  • Collating volunteer opportunities and create and distribute the monthly e-vacancy bulletin
  • Interviewing volunteers to ensure they are appropriately matched and trained for a position
  • Ensuring there is appropriate induction, support and training for volunteers in their roles
  • Line managing and supervise the Volunteer Engagement Officer in their role
  • Receiving and processing volunteer applications including DBS and references
  • Supervise the Administration of the Volunteers CRM ensuring that it is appropriately maintained

  • Enable those they work with to develop and learn from each other
  • Puts the customer first and gets them involved in what we do
