Jewish Care is the leading health and social care charity serving the Jewish community in the UK. We’re looking for a dedicated Care Manager to work at our Clore Manor care home in, Hendon North London. This bright, warm and friendly care home serves older people and those with dementia, so this is your opportunity to truly make a difference to some of the most vulnerable people’s lives. Looking after our employees is just as important to us as looking after our residents, so in addition to earning up to £35,183 (DOE), you’ll get some excellent benefits too.

Variety is the spice of life. Nowhere is this more true than at Jewish Care. While our residents may all be of a similar religious tradition, our staff come from different backgrounds and cultures, practice different faiths, and offer perspectives on life that are as individual as they are.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be vitally important to the smooth running of our care home, giving residents the exceptional level of care that is expected of Jewish Care. Your core responsibility will be to effectively lead and motivate the residential care worker team, enabling every resident to remain independent and enjoy a meaningful life. You’ll achieve this by ensuring every team member is trained and supported to work effectively and safely, meeting Jewish Care’s high standards. Your daily duties will involve:

  • Delivering a person-centred service, building relationships with residents, families and local community
  • Providing service in line with all current legislation and policies, including CQC requirements
  • Planning care to meet standards by understanding service user’s needs and limitations
  • Facilitating and leading stimulating activities which reflect Jewish identity and cultural needs
  • Maintaining excellent communication between employees, service users, family members, and volunteers
  • Overseeing effective management of unit (rota, handover, medication, doctor’s rounds, end of life care)

The role is 39 hours per week on a rota basis, with shifts falling on any day from Monday to Sunday, on a one-week and two-week rota. This will include days, evenings and weekends, with some overtime required.

What you’ll need

You’ll be compassionate, committed and flexible to the needs of our residents. Previous experience managing a care environment, working with older people, and those with dementia, is essential. Having knowledge of care homes’ policies and processes (DoLS, MCA, safeguarding adults, falls) and understanding all areas of KLOE’s is a must. Experience of security and building management is also beneficial. We’re looking for:

  • Minimum of QCF level 5
  • Previous experience administering medicine, emergency care, and safeguarding adults
  • A finisher, able to use your initiative and work independently
  • Understanding the role in relation to the professional relationship with Registered Manager
  • Flexibility (may occasionally be required to stay without notice in the event of an emergency or deadline within the home)

What we can offer you

We understand how important it is to make our employees feel valued, respected and appreciated. On top of your competitive salary, we offer an impressive benefits package including: 4% employer contribution pension with free life assurance; childcare vouchers; free DBS shared update; generous mileage allowance for work…the list goes on! It’s easy to see why our staff are so passionate about Jewish Care – once people start working for us, they tend to stick around!

This is your chance to make a real difference to people, supporting independence, promoting choice, and providing compassionate care in the community. If this sounds like your perfect career, Jewish Care want to hear from you – apply today and start the job you’ve always wished for!
