At the heart of Jewish Care’s reset and reimaging of Community Centres is a new strategy for community and outreach services, which will be implemented throughout 2021/22 and onwards, through Jewish Care’s new Community Hubs. The Pandemic has provided new opportunities such as the development of virtual programming and increased provision of telephone befriending. This new team will ensure the consolidation of those services and the re-introduction of face-to-face services.

This is a newly formed role and will evolve as the new strategy is developed and rolled out. As such, this job description provides an outline of the overall responsibilities and is neither prescriptive nor an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities.

Working to the Operations Administrator, The Care Bus Driver is responsible for driving Jewish Care members and for the clean and safe maintenance of their bus.

Jewish Care is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of our service users, in line with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) recruitment guidelines as well as the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

Jewish Care will carry out the required recruitment checks. Candidates will be expected to undertake enhanced screening checks, including Right to Work check, provide three years of employer referencing and a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

In line with government guidance, we will be asking all candidates to confirm if they have been vaccinated against COVID-19
